February 23, 2010 Garage Meeting

This month's meeting was held in the newly cleaned garage of Terry & Bonnie.  Thanks go to Tim Held for making me throw away false treasures and to Frank Lewark for helping to sort out the stuff Tim didn't haul to the dump.  Our special guests were Jim "Jimmy Chips" Wells and Sonny Sanchez of TCP Global.  These guys know everything there is to know about auto paint.  Just about everyone had a question or two about primers, paints, preparation and tools.  Between Jimmy and Sonny all of the questions were answered and everyone was impressed with their considerable knowledge.  In addition to the great presentation, they invited the club to come down for a tour of the facility.  Prospective member Mike Coffin attended his first garage meeting.  Mike is building a '55 Chevy Coupe and is married to Lynda.  Be sure to say hi the next time you see them.

The members gather around to hear the guest speakers.

Everyone listens to the presentation.

Jim "Jimmy Chips" Wells talks about color matching and other topics of great interest. This guy knows his products and answered lots of questions.

Sonny Sanchez waits for Jimmy to finish his presentation. Sonny was Jimmy's first hire and has been with him ever since. Sonny really learned well.

Sonny's turn now to dazzle us with his knowledge.

After the presentation there were lots of questions. John talks to Jimmy while Bob and Mike get their questions answered by Sonny.

Anyone need some 3 ring binders? Those boxes behind Jim are full of about 500 of them.

John tripped over some furniture dollies in his garage and banged up his head when he fell. Terry made a special warning sign just for John.

Rene and Red parked their Ford F-1s together. Note how Rene has added width to his truck and increased the number of grill bars.

Bob's '63 Chevy II. Note the removable convertable hard top.
