BYLAWS

 

 

  1. CLUB NAME: “The Little Guys Street Rods”

 

  1. EMBLEM:            
    1. The club colors are Royal Blue and White

  1. OBJECTIVE:
    1. To promote the sport of street rodding.
    2. To promote goodwill within the community.
    3. Have fun while being responsible and safe.
    4. To raise funds for charitable organizations that provides benefit to the community.

 

  1. MEMBERSHIP (New Members):
    1. Prospective members must be sponsored by an active member in good standing of The Little Guys Street Rods.
    2. Prospective members must own a 1973 or older muscle car or modified American made car or truck.

1)       Vehicle must be in running condition or exhibit continued progress.

2)       Streetability and safety of the vehicle will be assessed using Dept. of Motor Vehicles specifications as guidelines.

    1. Attend three (3) club functions.  One function must be a Garage Meeting and one function must be a Business Meeting.  The third function can be any official club function.
    2. Prospective members will be voted on at a Business meeting and require a 2/3 majority of the eligible voting members present for election to membership. 
    3. Honorary Membership.  Individuals, organizations and businesses may be elected to Honorary Membership status on a 2/3 majority vote of the board of directors.  There are no dues for Honorary Members and they do not have voting privileges.  Honorary memberships are for a period of one (1) year, unless otherwise stipulated. 

 

  1. MEMBERSHIP (Existing Members):
    1. Own a 1973 or older muscle car or modified American made car or truck.

1)       Vehicle must be in running condition or exhibit continued progress.

2)       Streetability and safety of the vehicle will be assessed using DMV specifications as guidelines.

    1. Members will agree, in writing, to abide by all Club by-laws.
    2. Family members are encouraged to participate at events and meetings, each member and his/her spouse or significant other member shall be entitled to one vote.
    3. In order for members to be eligible for prizes and awards (trophies) at events sponsored by The Little Guys Street Rods, they must have paid an entry fee.  Members who elect to work and not pay an entry fee are not eligible for prizes and awards, however, are eligible to purchase raffle tickets and receive raffle prizes.

 

6         DUES: Membership dues are thirty-six dollars ($36.00) annually, payable upon acceptance as a new member (prorated to July 1) and annually thereafter on July 1 of each calendar year.  Any member more than three (3) months delinquent in their dues is subject to removal from the club unless arrangements have been made with the President and/or Treasurer. 

 

7         OFFICERS:

A.      Nominations for officers are accepted during the first meeting in November at a Business meeting.  Elections are held the first meeting in December at a business meeting, and newly elected officers take office January 1.  Officers are elected by a simple majority of the eligible voting members present.  Upon election, all elected officers are members of the Club Board of Directors.

B.       All nominees must be members in good standing to be elected to office.

C.       Elected positions:

President

Presides over club meetings, acts as club spokesperson.  Signer on club checking accounts.

 

Vice President

Assists president with his/her duties, assumes President’s roll when absent, coordinates with committee chairs.

 

Recording Secretary

                                Keeps minutes of business/board meetings. 

 

Treasurer

Accepts funds for deposit, issues checks, and prepares annual financial report for audit.  Signer on club checking accounts.

 

D.  Appointed positions.  Subject to approval by the Club Board of Directors, the President

may appoint the following officers:  

Auditor

                                Conducts annual audit of club books.

 

Membership Chair

Accepts and processes new membership applications, coordinates phone tree for club activities.  Works closely with Garage Meeting Chair, Newsletter Editor and Event Chair.

 

Event Chair

                                Coordinates fun runs (cruises) and car shows.

 

Hospitality Chair

Coordinates food and beverage for club events.  Works closely with Membership and Event Chairs.

 

Webmaster

                                Maintains Little Guys website.

 

 

Fall Mountain Run Committee Chair

Chairs Fall Mountain Run committee meetings, Coordinates Fall Mountain Run subcommittees.

 

Historian

                                Maintains club archives, works closely with Webmaster.

 

Car Club Council Chair

Promotes Little Guys in local media and auto related publications.  Attends and represents The Little Guys at Car Club Council Meetings.

 

Parliamentarian

                                Assist the president in conducting an orderly meeting.

 

                        Garage Meeting Chair      

                                Coordinates monthly Garage Meetings.

 

                        Newsletter Editor

                                Responsible for preparing Club newsletter “Street Sheet”.

 

                         Property Manager

                                Responsible for maintaining inventory of Club property. 

 

                         Swap Meet Chair

                                Coordinates swap meet spaces and passes.

 

Appointed officers and committee chairs are active members of the Club Board of Directors.

 

  1. MEETINGS:
    1. Club meetings will be held twice monthly.  The Business Meeting will be held on the second Tuesday of each month and a Garage Meeting on the forth Tuesday of each month. 
    2. Meetings will be conducted according to Roberts Rules of Order.
    3. All business of the organization shall be conducted at the Business Meeting, with the December Business meeting designated as the Annual Meeting with the election of club officers held at the December Annual Meeting.

 

  1. AMENDMENTS: Amendments to the bylaws require a 2/3rds majority of members in good standing.

 

  1. Definitions:

Member in good standing:  A member in good standing is a member who is current in dues and in compliance with the rules and regulations described in these bylaws.

 

Garage Meeting:  Garage Meetings are held the forth Tuesday of each month.

Garage Meetings are held in a club member’s garage or a local automotive related business.

 

Business Meeting:  Business Meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month and are open to any member or prospective member.
