Vista High School Auto Shop Program

Tim McCreary invited the Little Guys to visit the Vista High School Auto Shop.  Tim is the instructor and his trusty sidekick Woody share many years of experience in all forms of auto related sports.  Woody is the "Old School" guy and Tim the "New School".  They had lots of projects they shared with the club, firing up a small block Chevy motor on the engine stand and allowing us to (in the case of Judy Bliss) to crawl all over the shop.  Judy couldn't resist getting into the Baja 1000 racer the students build and raced in the big event.  We thought we would need the fire department to extricate her, but she was able to climb out on her own.  The students enjoyed checking out some of the members cars.  Mike brought his Nova into the shop area and showed off the golden beauty to the crowd.  Jim blew all the student's minds when he popped the hood of his '53 Chevy and they saw the TurnKey engine.  The class had toured TurnKey recently and were impressed with Jim's "sleeper".  Red showed off his '29 Ford Sedan and Bob & Milly drove the Corvair, which is something most of the students had never seen before.  John drove his awesome '40 Ford and Gary his '65 Cutlass.  Also present, but not able to get into the shop area was our own Tim with his Mustang, Norm and Dianne brought "Sammy Sue", their '52 Chevy, Al selected his '40 Buick from his stable of great cars and Terry & Bonnie were in the '50 Studebaker pickup.
