Richer Auto & Truck Electric

Jim Sr. and Jim Jr. Richer and their newest employee Mark invited the Little Guys to attend one of their informative meetings at their shop in Oceanside.

Jim Sr. is the man to see about old school starters, generators, alternators.  This has been a family business since before there were cars, with Jim Sr.'s grandfather starting the business shortly after the Civil War.  Jim Jr. is the 4th generation and has enough enthusiasm and knowledge for several people.  These guys know their stuff and have been willing to share their knowledge with the members and guests of the Little Guys.  In addition to the presentation by the Richer's, their new employee Mark brought his cool Nova to the meeting, when he started this beauty the word "Nasty" came to mind.  A beautiful white Nova.

We had four prospective members attend this meeting with two driving their cool rides and two with cars under construction.

Prospective member Bob Scott was there with his '38 Buick model 47.  The beautiful Buick sits on an Olds frame and has Olds running gear, but he has a 401 "Nail head" that he is getting ready to install.  The car is beautiful as is, but Bob has plans for paint, a new interior and some detailing.

Prospective member Doug Jones was there with his "Surfer" panel truck.  I almost expected to see the Beach Boys pop out of the back doors, which bear the autographs of several famous celebrities.  Both Bob and Doug live in the Encinitas area and will be great additions to the club.

Also present was Rubin Torres.  Rubin has three projects, two 63 Buick Rivieras and a 71 Olds Cutlass convertible.  They are works in progress now, but he is hoping that we can inspire him to get at least one of them finished soon.  We have lots of inspiration to share and hopefully we can help Rubin get one of his rides on the road soon.

Dave Mork came with Terry.  Dave is an old friend of Keith and several other members who worked at SONGs and Terry's long time neighbor.  Dave has many years of automotive knowledge and has several cool cars.  A 38 Buick and a 39 Chevy sedans, and more goodies for the old GM cars in his garage than his wife Pat would like him to have.
