On Sunday, August 17th, a group of us met at the parking lot of J.C. Penny
at North County Faire. We caravanned a few miles to Old Poway Park.
After parking just outside the restaurant, we went into the "Hamburger
Factory" for a great meal. The service was outstanding, the food even
better and everyone enjoyed the beautiful scenery. The menu allows
substituting "Buffalo Meat" or chicken for any of the burgers and most of us
sampled the "Buffalo Meat" burgers*. After a great lunch we enjoyed
exploring the park and settled down along side the gazebo with out lawn
chairs and sampled "Yellow Watermelon" that Debbie brought and some great
cookies that Rita baked, (but put in a store container to try to make us
think she really bought them.) We enjoyed some traditional blues music
and had a lazy Sunday afternoon. We definitely will be back next
summer, keep an eye on our calendar of events for details.
*It's really bison, but who cares.
