Hi my name is Terry and this is my 1950 Studebaker pick up. The ride is improved with a Plymouth Volare sub-frame and all Ford running gear. I shaved the door handles and use a remote to pop the doors. Tinted power windows and power mirrors. A Chevy tilt column with Grant Banjo steering wheel and home made "Studebaker" horn button steers her down the road while Bonnie and I relax in the charcoal gray leather Pontiac Bonneville seats. The brake pedal illuminates Cadillac tail lamps and a Chrysler radiator and dual electric fans keeps it below 190, even on the hottest days. A Sony CD/MP3 stereo with 600 watt amp makes sure that everyone around me can hear the oldies playing through the eight speakers. Cragar wheels on all four corners and a Ford 9". Power is amply supplied by an '70s balanced and blueprinted Ford Mustang Boss 302 motor. The heads and valve train have been worked and a Crane Cam supplies bumps for the valves. Thanks to Edlebrock for the smooth flowing manifold that distributes the juice from the Quadrajet. The dash is hand carved Santos Mahogany with vintage Stewart Warner gauges. It is a work in progress and I am looking forward to installing a Mahogany bed, finishing the paint and graphics, and for those "Hot August Nights" a Vintage Air system. We are putting the Stude on the back burner for awhile so I can get started on the new project. No room for family and friends in the truck, so we picked up a 1941 Olds sedan.
Our newest family member is a 1941 Olds 66 four door sedan. I plan to either sub-frame it or build a new chassis for it. Small block Chevy or maybe Olds, with a 700R4 and all the comfort stuff. This will be a cruiser and we plan to make several long trips in it, to the east coast and where ever the highway takes us. We plan to paint it House of Color Brandywine and redo all the bright work. When this one is done we will tear down the Studebaker and do it right.
