The best entertainment in the business.

Bob Chabot's the man who makes Dave and Geoff look so good and has a voice that makes women weak in the knees. He too has been around as long as dirt and is a great guy.

Geoff, or Scooby Do, is the man behind the music at Escondido's Cruisin Grand. Geoff has also been in the business since most of our street rods were new. His golden voice and ear for music make him the best in the business.

Special Recognition

Gloria Mello is the widow of Ed Mello of the Rod Knockers Car Club.  Ed and Gloria were on the committee for the first Fall Mountain Run; where there were about 35 cars (including the Rod Knockers cars).  Ed and Gloria worked on every Fall Mountain Run until Ed passed away from cancer 12 years ago.  Gloria has attended every single Fall Mountain Run since the very first and continues to attend in Ed's memory.

Ed's '37 at The Burger Run

Ed and Gloria built one of the nicest '37 Fords I have ever seen.  Ed built it in his garage in Vista and even painted it in there.  For those of you who remember Ed and his orange '37, look for Gloria at the next Fall Mountain Run and give her a big hug.  She is one fine lady and we love her dearly.

Most of you know our biggest Little Guy.  Marcus Collins is one of the hardest working guys you will ever meet.  He was everywhere at the same time during this years run and was our committee chair.  He hosted all of the meetings at his beautiful home in Escondido and donated hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars to make this run a success.  Without Marc and his committee the Fall Mountain Run would only be a parking lot with some cars in it.  Marc made the run what it is.  The committee and Special Olympics wanted to do something special for Marc and he was awarded one of the special trophies made by one of the Special Olympics Athletes.

Thanks to Dewey Smith for setting up Saturday's events.  It was Dewey who made arrangements at La Estancia for the buffet breakfast, the cruise through the beautiful countryside and the fantastic show at Oak Knoll Campgrounds.  Dewey is our oldest member, but he runs circles around all of us.  He is at every car event in the southwestern United States and everyone knows him.  He has a yellow '56 Chevy that he bought new and has maintained beautifully all these years.  Dewey also has a '33 Chevy that he led Saturday's run with and it wins a trophy wherever it goes.  It was originally purchased by his aunt brand new in 1933 and has been in the family ever since.
