Joe Free and his Country Gents Car Club out did themselves again this year with another outstanding event. I believe the final count was 586 registered cars and probably another hundred or so more that parked on S. Santa Fe and surrounding area. Beautiful tee shirts and the traditional dash plaques were provided to pre registered entrants. Some beautiful new cars made the trek this year as well as many of the old standards. Fantastic trophies (as always) highlighted the event. This has grown to be the largest single day car show in San Diego County, and in my opinion the best. A few new cars and several foreign makes snuck into the show, but 99% were true classic American cars.
Jim Gerrard and Harry Tabke showed up at the show before dawn to reserve some parking for the rest of the club. The rest met at Froggies Donuts for coffee and donuts before caravanning over to the great reserved parking. We had several prospective members attend the show and met some really nice people there who expressed an interest in joining. Lots of old friends and new made this a great day for all.
