Welcome to our Web site!

The Little Guys Street Rods is a group of guys & gals from North San Diego County that share a common interest in the building, driving and showing of modified and special interest pre 1974 cars & trucks and Muscle Cars (originally manufactured in the USA in 1973 or earlier).  We have been an active club since 1977 and enjoy building and driving our vehicles to rod runs and car events all over southern California.  Thank you for visiting our little place on the web, please feel free to contact us if you have any questions, comments or would like to attend a Little Guys meeting or event.  We are always looking for good new members interested in a family oriented car club.  If you're building a car and have any questions, we have centuries of combined experience and love to share with others with similar interests.

Fall Mountain Run #27

FREE

No registration, just show up.

November 7, 2010

We will depart from

The Money Pit 1360 East Mission, San Marcos at 9:00 AM so be there in time to meet with old friends and new for a great day.  Come hungry and join us for a no host breakfast.  Great food, huge portions and low prices at this great car themed restaurant.

We plan to do the 2010 Fall Mountain Run just like we did in 2007, 2008 and 2009.  There is no charge to participate, it is open to anyone who would like to drive their car or truck on a scenic road trip from San Marcos to Julian.  When you get to Julian you are on your own, have lunch in one of the historic restaurants, grab some pie at Mom's, tour the old gold mine, ride one of the horse drawn carriages, visit the many specialty shops and check out all the cool cars parked all over town.  Don't forget to stop at Dudley's on the way up the mountain and get some of their great bread and visit their gift shop.

Hope to see everyone there.

Little Guys in the News

Newspaper clippings about us.

Frank's new carport

Frank wanted  a carport to park his new Caddy under (the 47 Chevy Panel is in the garage) and contacted fellow Little Guy Jim Gerrard to build the structure.  Frank couldn't be happier with the work Jim did and wanted to share with everyone how happy he is.

West Cost Tire & Transmission

The Club made a visit to West Coast Tire and Transmission on April 27th of this year.  Within a couple days Mike Coffin took his new Nova in for an upgrade on the brakes.  Mike was so happy with the work they performed he recommended them to other members.  I took my '50 Studebaker in and they aligned the front end to perfection, repaired all the leaks in the transmission and adjusted it so that it shifts like a dream and remounted the rear end properly.  I am also delighted with the work they performed and how reasonable their prices are.  Jim Gerrard had his TurnKey LS1 installed by Scott and the guys at West Coast, Norm has taken in his Mustang, Ranchero and '52 Chevy for work and raves about the service.  Keith had them work on his '46 Ford and Frank has his '47 Chevy panel there getting the power steering fixed.  Real soon, Red is taking his '29 Model A sedan in for a front end alignment.  There are lots more Little Guys who have taken their cars to the gang at West Coast Tire & Transmission.  These guys really know their old cars and can fix just about anything.  If you need a shop that is honest, fair and knows their old cars, give West Coast a try.  Ask any of the Little Guys about them.

Little Guys President Howard Haston presents Mopar Club President Larry Johnson two checks for $125.00 each.  The Mopar Club donates the proceeds from this show to Operation Home Front and The USO.  The Little Guys wanted to pass on some money we earned from a car show at Fairwinds Ivy Ranch Retirement Community to Operation Home Front and The USO, who do so much to support our military.

Great show for a greater cause.

Mike Coffin and Lynda Nelson

Mike and Lynda are relatively new to the Little Guys, but have become very active and a great addition to the club.

This is the frame for Mike's project '55 Chevy

The '55 sits in the garage waiting for inspiration, or is it perspiration?

Mike & Lynda couldn't wait for the '55 to be finished, so they picked up this really clean '72 Nova.  Mike has lots of plans for this little gem.

The '72 Nova at Vista High School's Auto Shop tour.  Tim, the shop teacher, invited the club to tour the facility and to bring our rides to show to the students.
